UpCloud Server management & web hosting
GhostlyBridge desktop tray application for managing UpCloud and SSH servers
A tray-based desktop application that brings together UpCloud, SSH, RDP, and file uploads in a single interface.

Managing servers the traditional way

  • Open UpCloud web console... wait for it to load
  • Copy SSH credentials and paste into terminal
  • Upload files using command line or SFTP client
  • Repeat this for every server, daily

With GhostlyBridge

  • All servers accessible from system tray - just one click away
  • One-click SSH/RDP - no need to copy-paste
  • Drag & drop files - upload in seconds
  • Works offline - credentials stored locally

What is GhostlyBridge

GhostlyBridge is a desktop app that centralises server management, UpCloud cloud control, and file transfers into a single lightweight system tray tool.

Whether you are managing UpCloud servers, self-hosted SSH instances, or remote desktops via RDP, GhostlyBridge keeps connections, credentials, and uploads organised without browser tabs or command-line juggling.

Combine GhostlyBridge with GhostlyDDns for DNS automation to create a comprehensive privacy-focused infrastructure toolkit. Deploy Blazor applications on UpCloud and manage them straight from the tray.

Visual quick tour

Use the preview stage to navigate through the tray workflow, then open any screenshot at full size when you wish to examine the details.

System requirements

  • Windows or Linux desktop with graphical session
  • Bundled .NET runtime included; no manual installation needed
  • Internet access for UpCloud API calls and permission for local file access
  • UpCloud API token plus SSH credentials for your servers

First launch and layout

  1. Launch the app and click the tray icon to open the main window
  2. Navigate using compact tabs: UpCloud, Custom Servers, and Settings
  3. Check connection badges atop each tab for quick status

All functions reside within the tray interface so overlays never disrupt your desktop workflow.

UpCloud integration

Store your UpCloud API token once, enable auto-reconnect on launch, and keep cloud servers accessible without re-authenticating.

  • Token storage is under UpCloud Settings with a Connect button
  • Reconnect on launch restores your session automatically
  • Server overviews display status, balance, and refresh controls
  • Creation wizard guides you through name, plan, template, SSH key, and summary

Server management & custom hosts

Add any SSH target via Add Server, set default upload paths, and reorder the list to suit your workflow. Refresh updates status without leaving the tray.

  • Store host, username, and preferred path for each entry
  • Sort and reorder servers for quick access
  • Optional online checks verify reachability on refresh
  • Toggle website and RDP shortcuts to combine hosting and management in one place
  • Use default SSH keys or script hooks for automated upkeep

Web hosting shortcuts

Bridge keeps web hosting handy: open sites from each server card, view balances, and prepare deployment paths for uploads.

Drag-and-drop uploads

Drop files or folders onto any server row to start the upload overlay automatically. Alternatively, select items manually if drag and drop is inconvenient.

  • Adjust destination path per server or use stored defaults
  • Remove queued items or toggle auto-start before confirming
  • Optional chmod +x flag simplifies Linux deployment scripts
  • If uploads don’t start, check files are valid, reopen the overlay, or cancel and retry if connection issues occur

Tray-first controls

All actions remain within the tray window so overlays never obscure key buttons. Status messages appear inline where relevant: connection notices in UpCloud tab, upload details in overlay, and errors near controls.

Typical workflows

Connect to UpCloud

  1. Open Settings, then UpCloud Settings
  2. Enter your API token and click Connect
  3. Optionally enable reconnect on launch

Provision a new UpCloud server

  1. Start the wizard and enter name and location
  2. Choose plan and template, then attach your SSH key
  3. Confirm summary to create the instance

Add your own server

  1. Use Add Server to store host, access details, and save
  2. Reorder using drag and drop
  3. Run Refresh to update the list

Upload via drag and drop

  1. Drop files or folders onto the chosen server
  2. Review overlay, adjust target path or auto-start
  3. Enable chmod +x for Linux scripts if required
